When asked who should be eliminated from NXT, David Otunga seems to be the unanimous decision. So why is it likely that David Otunga will win the NXT competition tomorrow?
David Otunga is currently ranked at No. 2 in the Pros Poll for reasons unknown to the NXT Rookies and the fans. Mainly because, WWE Management said it to be so.
Look at David Otunga’s rise from within NXT and into Monday Nights. Otunga won an 8-man Battle Royal against the other NXT Rookies earning the right to guest host Monday Night RAW. And when he guest hosted, he placed himself in a tag team title match with John Cena against then-Unified Tag Team Champions ShoMiz (The Big Show and The Miz); in which he abandoned John Cena in order for ShoMiz to retain. The following week, John Cena called him out for a one-on-one match that Otunga lost, but not miserably. Why, because WWE Management said it to be so.
With Monday Nights taking on this inane Guest Host angle, in hopes of higher ratings, David Otunga appears to be the perfect choice to become the next break out star. David Otunga is engaged to singer/actress Jennifer Hudson. He is the self-proclaimed Kanye West of the WWE. The A-List of NXT.
The reason why basically every NXT Rookie feels that David Otunga should be eliminated from competition is due to his lack of WRESTLING ability. But in the WWE, that doesn’t matter. As long as David Otunga has mike skills, there is no stopping this former TV Reality Star. Just look how far The Miz has gone since his days on The Real World.
And one final point of why David Otunga may win NXT: R-Truth is the new United States Champion. The winner of NXT not only earns a full-time WWE contract, but they are given a title match on Pay-per-view. Before, when Daniel Bryan was still a contestant on NXT, it was speculated that he and The Miz would duke it out for the United States Title. But with R-Truth, Otunga’s mentor, as the United States Champion, it seems more than obvious who will win NXT.
Author’s Note: Forget Daniel Bryan. Bryan Danielson should be the emphatic winner of NXT. And with his angle with Michael Cole becoming the highlight for these final episodes of NXT, I wouldn’t count out Bryan Danielson out of the WWE.
Author’s Note 2: Wade Barrett is my personal favorite to win NXT. He is exactly what WWE looks for in a superstar: He’s a 6′ 6″ giant of a man. He’s 270 lbs. And yeah… he has charisma. Recall the mike skills competition on NXT where the winner would win their own entrance theme? Yeah, Wade never got his entrance theme. Thanks WWE.
