Wade Barrett promised that the actions of the Nexus is for a greater purpose. A cause that transcends the WWE superstars, legends, officials, and even Mr. McMahon.
The Anonymous RAW GM has failed to take any actions to reprimand the Nexus, other than temporarily stripping Wade Barrett of his WWE title opportunity. It seems that the only individual to be reprimanded is John Cena. After failing to call a truce with Nexus leader Wade Barrett, the GM ordered John Cena to take on Nexus in a 7-on-1 handicap match for the following week. The match would later be reduced to 6-on-1 after Cena brutally attacked Darren Young, forcing him out of competition.
The unsuspecting bash beatings from Nexus have scared off several members of the RAW roster. Yet, there are superstars, such as John Morrison, Yoshi Tatsu, and Evan Bourne, who have equally experienced the price of opposing the Nexus when siding with John Cena. And while John Cena has usually been able to surpass the odds, he lost this past Monday; even though the rules stated that the Nexus had to tag in one-at-a-time. The numbers game simply became too much for even the 9-time WWE Champion to handle.
Then on NXT the following night, Nexus returned and competed in the show’s main-event Battle Royal. The Battle Royal, which featured the remaining NXT Season 2 Rookies and the Pros, displayed some notable clashes, including a beating between Michael McGillicutty (currently 4-0) and Heath Slater (formerly 4-0); and David Otunga (“It” Factor) against Percy Watson (“Ohh Yeah!” Factor). Certainly a clash between gimmicks, which would have been perfect if Bryan Danielson was there to face off with Kaval.
The Pros found themselves outnumbered 5-6 in favor of the Nexus. Not too bad, if not for The Miz who tossed Zack Ryder over in hopes to affirm his standings with Nexus. The same was attempted by “Dashing” Cody Rhodes after Nexus thrashed John Morrison and Kofi Kingston. Yet, Miz had the good conscious of eliminating himself from the Battle Royal, while Rhodes silently excepted the onslaught.
To all superstars that try to befriend them, Wade Barrett has made it clear, “You are either Nexus or Against us.” Meaning that no one is safe from the Nexus.
