The stars of the insanely popular reality television series on MTV are not appearing on TNA, but two debuting wrestlers have certainly taken the time to come up with knock-off gimmicks stemming from Jersey Shore’s two biggest stars.
The two debuting wrestlers are female Indy wrestler Becky Bayless and newly signed Indy wrestler Rob Ecoks. And it has been reported that both will debut their Jersey Shore gimmick “The Shore” live this Thursday at Before the Glory on SpikeTV. Eckos’ ring name will be Robbie E, a knockoff of the Shore’s Paulie D, while Bayless’ portrayal of Cookie will be a knockoff of Snooki.
Rob Ecoks may be remembered most for his appearance for World Wrestling Entertainment when he was attacked in a skit by Edge who was doing a mock impersonation of Ric Flair during WWE Raw. As for his wrestling experience, Ecoks has made a name for himself in Chaotic Wrestling, East Coast Wrestling Association, Hardway Wrestling, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling, and Mikey Whipwreck’s New York Wrestling Connection.
Becky Bayless, for the majority of her career, fell in the roles of valet and backstage and in-ring interviewer. Yet, in the early years of Ring of Honor, Bayless wrestled occasionally, including losses to Alexis Laree (Mickie James). Bayless fulfilled the role of interviewer for Shimmer Women Athletes, ROH’s sister promotion. In early 2009 Bayless signed with Jimmy Hart’s Wrestlicious series under the ring name Brooke Lynn.
